Isaiah 25 | King James Bible |
Chapter 26 | |
| In that day shall this song be sung93 in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will [God] appoint4 [for] walls and bulwarks. |
| Open3 ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth6 the truth may enter in.4 |
| Thou wilt keep4 [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed7 [on thee]: because he trusteth7 in thee. |
| Trust3 ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH [is] everlasting strength: |
| For he bringeth down52 them that dwell6 on high; the lofty12 city, he layeth it low;55 he layeth it low,55 [even] to the ground; he bringeth55 it [even] to the dust. |
| The foot shall tread it down,4 [even] the feet of the poor, [and] the steps of the needy. |
| The way of the just [is] uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh17 the path of the just. |
| Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited14 for thee; the desire of [our] soul [is] to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. |
| With my soul have I desired14 thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early:17 for when thy judgments [are] in the earth, the inhabitants6 of the world will learn1 righteousness. |
| Let favour be shewed90 to the wicked, [yet] will he not learn1 righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly,17 and will not behold4 the majesty of the LORD. |
| LORD, [when] thy hand is lifted up,1 they will not see:4 [but] they shall see,4 and be ashamed4 for [their] envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour4 them. |
| LORD, thou wilt ordain4 peace for us: for thou also hast wrought1 all our works in us. |
| O LORD our God, [other] lords beside thee have had dominion1 over us: [but] by thee only will we make mention55 of thy name. |
| [They are] dead,5 they shall not live;4 [they are] deceased, they shall not rise:4 therefore hast thou visited1 and destroyed55 them, and made all their memory to perish.17 |
| Thou hast increased1 the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased1 the nation: thou art glorified:8 thou hadst removed [it] far14 [unto] all the ends of the earth. |
| LORD, in trouble have they visited1 thee, they poured out1 a prayer [when] thy chastening [was] upon them. |
| Like as a woman with child, [that] draweth near55 the time of her delivery,2 is in pain,4 [and] crieth out4 in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD. |
| We have been with child,1 we have been in pain,1 we have as it were brought forth1 wind; we have not wrought4 any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants6 of the world fallen.4 |
| Thy dead5 [men] shall live,4 [together with] my dead body shall they arise.4 Awake54 and sing,16 ye that dwell6 in dust: for thy dew [is as] the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out55 the dead. |
| Come,3 my people, enter3 thou into thy chambers, and shut3 thy doors about thee: hide3 thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.4 |
| For, behold, the LORD cometh out6 of his place to punish2 the inhabitants6 of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose14 her blood, and shall no more cover17 her slain.7 |
